Bored down in Puerto Rico in the 90s,
I carved my first tikis with a wicked dull Sawzall. The experience
was so frustrating that I really did not return to carving until
I moved to Florida and met master tiki carver, David Landry. From
him I learned that a few easy passes with a chain saw is
all it takes to reveal the tiki soul within the palm trunk. To
see some of the most amazing tiki carivings in the world, please
visit the website of the man himself, my late, great friend, David
Landry. |
