The Thelonious
Monk Propaganda
Campaign, Evanston Township High School, 1984 What Actually Happened?
Artist Allison Chambers already had a great logo concept in
mind when she asked me to see what I could do with it in terms
of a branding scheme that would apply to the many facets of her
new product, a line of golf balls which feature her sexy pen-and-ink
style portraits of pretty girls. For the logo, she envisioned
a woman's lip print on a golf ball (simple and brilliant!). My
part was to make this actually happen in terms of melding the
actual lipstick print to a nice ball, and then to find the right
type and alter just it slightly to make it sexy and hip.
After the basic logo was established,
I created the packaging which you see below, as well as the central
component of her sales campaign, the
NaughtyBalls.com website.
It's a great product! We even made little sexy bios (a la
Playmate of the month) which come with every tube of balls!
The packaging
lets the product speak for itself. Go to the order
section of NaughtyBalls.com and
you'll see how we created a graphic "shopping tube" that allows
the buyer to combine any balls they like into, in effect, an
actual tube!
